Valentine’s Day Decoration Ideas 2023

Do you know what is the best month of the year? It’s February! Obviously.  You can feel the love in the air, all around you. Rose day, chocolate day, hug day, Valentine’s Day. What’s not to like? And with a little nip in the air, it’s the perfect weather to cozy up in your home with your partner or go out for a romantic dinner date at a fancy restaurant.

Valentine’s Day is coming up and whether you’re planning on spending it at home with your loved ones or out with friends, why not spruce up your space to make it as romantic and inviting as possible? Whether you’re dining at a restaurant for a romantic date or want to host a small dinner party at home, there are plenty of things that you can do to create a beautiful environment for the occasion.

We know that Christmas and New Year are just over and many of us are a little tight on a budget after buying all those presents for everyone. And yes, we have seen too much red over Christmas and many of us don’t like to be cheesy. Don’t worry, we got your back.

We have always come up with tips and tricks on how to style your home, and this blog is no different. However, it is different in the manner that Valentine’s Day decorations are temporary decorations and are generally put up just for a day. Let’s be honest, nobody wants a big red heart hanging in their living room all year long. Not to mention, it is a little tacky and cliché.

The cupid at our team i.e Elevation interior designers in Thane graciously shared his secret for making this Valentine’s Day sophisticated, unique and memorable. Here are some of the ideas to get you started:

Add Some Personal Touch

Valentine’s is all about making your loved ones feel special and what more can make them feel appreciated than something created by you? It is one of the most classic and thoughtful ways of making someone know that they are loved and cared for. Spruce up the place and make it as inviting and warm as you can make. De-clutter, please. An elegant, neatly organized place, fresh flowers of your choice and a table for two with a candle-lit dinner, go a long way. The same goes for a restaurant too. Set up tables for couples, with minimal yet elegant decoration, up in the corner where there is no disturbance and have soft music in the background. Your clients would be happy and so will be your cash counter.

Take It Up A Notch

Valentine’s day is the time to bring forward your ‘A’ game. How to do it? We got you covered. As always, mix the textures. Whether it is your home or a restaurant. Play with different colorful textures. And by colors, we don’t necessarily mean red. If you and your partner are a fan of red, great! Go ahead. But just in case you want to be different, unique and yet romantic, try changing your cushion covers to something more-peppy or get a throw blanket that is warm and fuzzy. You can also go in for silk or velvet cushion covers to make it more romantic.

Soft Lighting

Time to replace those bright lights with soft lights. If you have preinstalled dimmer lights, you are already done, just set the lights to your comfort. In case you don’t have dimmer lights, it’s an easy fix, just get some soft lights and replace the bright lights. Once you are done, you can easily put the original ones back and store these lights for some other time. Also, they are not very costly. Still, if you don’t want to buy new lights, you can always use your fairy lights from Christmas or Diwali, put them in an empty glass bottle or a mug and voila your ‘DIY’, the expensive table lamp is ready.

Seating Arrangement

Fashion a seating arrangement that is comfortable enough to have a direct conversation. Create a cozy place. A place where you don’t have to strain your neck to talk to each other. Have a separate dining arrangement for two and a separate place to snuggle. A two-seater cushioned couch with throw pillows and a cosy blanket will do the trick. Place a side table for surface space, so that you don’t have to leave or get up from your partner’s side to place your drink or keys. Decorate the surface space with a simple vase and elegant flowers. Go minimalistic with a glass vase and a single stem of your partners’ favorite flower. If you love outdoors, decorate your balcony in a way that our partner would never forget.

Create a Memory Wall

Replace those everyday pictures or frames with something new. Pictures that have not been used before or pictures that bring back old memories. You can use pictures of your proposal, engagement or wedding. Anything that fills your heart with happiness and joy. It’s not just your partner’s day, it’s your day too. You need to enjoy it as much as your partner. Pictures or souvenirs from the time that you spent together are precious and should be cherished. Heart wreaths are so in trend right now, and they look magnificent.

Subtle Red

We are not against red at all. It is the color of love. But you want this day to scream Valentine’s Day and not Christmas. Add subtle red to the décor. For example, red silk pillow covers in your bedroom or cushion cover for your sofa set. You can also go in for a timeless and classic single long-stem red rose in a sleek glass vase. Just don’t overdo it. Red cushions, red curtains, and a red table runner with a big red stuffed heart are kind of cliché. Keep it sophisticated. It should be soothing to both your eyes and soul.

Photobooth and Décor

In case you run a restaurant, heart shape balloon décor and photobooths never go out of fashion. Your guests will get to take away some memorable photographs and you can do this décor at a fraction of the price. May we also suggest some candles/fairy lights and themed table runners to go with the flow? Go with soft music in the backdrop to create a romantic ambiance. Or just set up a romantic table for two.

Create a memorable moment for your loved ones, and get in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. Celebrate the essence of love. Let cupid work its magic.
